The Introduction

The history of this building can be traced to the 16th century. In the 20th century, there was already a small pub. In 2008, the building was reconstructed and got a new exterior, as well as a new interior. Terrace is designed by two Italian Architects, and is made in gold and slightly blue colours. The restaurant boasts of a delicious cuisine and masterpieces made by Chef Pavel Sípka, as well as an amazing terrace with a beautiful view of Prague, which is ideal for lunch, romantic dinners, or relaxing with a glass of vine. During the summer months, customers can use a private entry to King’s gardens of the Prague Castle. The interior of the restaurant can accommodate forty people, and the whole wall is covered with slices of 18K gold. Rastauration was honoured as the best restauration in the Czech republic.

We have been her for the first time and we were lucky to find a place at the very last minute (better you try to reserve well in advance). The place is amazing and offer probably one of the best panoramic view over the beauty of Prague. In summer there is even a terrace from which he view should be even more outstanding. That being sad we have also to say they the quality of the food is amazing as well: a place where you can find traditional Czech that but present in a more fashion and modern way they still preserve the hearty value of Czech food: a restaurant that must be visited.

We are not easy to please. We eat out a lot, back home in New York and when traveling, and have thus eaten some truly excellent meals over the years. So when my husband declared halfway through our meal at U Zlate Studne that his duck dish was the best he's ever had, I knew I was dealing with a remarkable restaurant. My foie gras appetizer was outstanding as well, as was my beet risotto. The accolades bestowed on the chef by various organizations are truly deserved. The service was great too, our waiter spoke English well, and was very helpful with our wine selection. Btw, if you plan on eating here, call way in advance to get a reservation. Our concierge could only get us a lunch reservation although we called almost a week in advance.
